Sales Blast - Sunday March 2nd, 2014

A new month and another snow storm coming for us in the Philly area. I spent Saturday chipping ice on my drive way so I could be set to plow the new foot of snow we may get Sunday and Monday. The really bad news is the weather reduced the product we could ship at the end of last month due to the trucking companies not wanting to take product  because of predicted extreme cold temps this weekend (they were wrong). The good news is it should make for an excellent March.

Norovirus Outbreak Continues

cruiseship.jpg

My Dad has been hard at work researching the use of hand sanitizers and also Norovirus and found a great weblink that gives a concise overview of the issues with combatting this outbreak. Titled "What is Norovirus" here are a few excerpts -

"Norovirus consists of a group of viruses that cause gastrointestinal illness in humans (the viruses are not known to infect other animals). The norovirus causes about 20 million illnesses in the United States each year, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and is blamed for as many as 800 U.S. deaths each year. [7 Devastating Infectious Diseases]

Norovirus is named for Norwalk, Ohio, where the first confirmed outbreak was recorded, in 1968. People sometimes refer to a norovirus infection as "stomach flu," even though the virus is not related to influenza".

You can read the whole article at this link Article link- http://www.livescience.com/42944-what-is-norovirus.html and I have attached below a word doc version. The highlights include that alcohol hand sanitizers ARE NOT effective and the most important thing is wash your hands and also disinfect touch surfaces. We cover that in a Airx video we did at the end of last year called Cold & Flu Prevention - http://www.airxinfo.com/cold.html  The point of this is every business (not just cruise ships) has this problem to deal with and you have solutions.

Floor Care Season is coming!

While the winter continues we know it is almost over and that means floor care will be coming back strong. We just got an order for over 6000 pails of Sanoverde products for a major school district that they will use for spring scrub and recoats. This reminds us of the huge amount of finish and cleaners that just the education market can consume. This is the time to get in the testing phase for customers to evaluate new products. Let us know if you need samples and field help in developing customers like the one I just talked about.
