In this week’s Jancast we reported on the merger of Imperial Dade and Brady Plus. If you’re not one that was already acquired, you might be thinking about how to compete against a much larger company once the merger takes place. You can listen to Jancast below, but here’s some info to help you.
How to Stay Competitive After Industry Mergers
1. Differentiate with Service
• Offer same-day or next-day delivery in your core markets
• Provide personalized account management (named reps, not call centers)
• Conduct onsite product training for customer staff
2. Build Strategic Partnerships
• Explore private label or exclusive product lines to protect margins
• Partner with complementary service providers (equipment repair, waste hauling, safety supplies)
3. Leverage Local Advantage
• Promote your deep knowledge of local regulations and market needs
• Sponsor community events or facility audits to reinforce presence
• Highlight customer success stories from your region
4. Embrace Digital Tools
• Improve your website with easy online ordering & account management
• Use data-driven CRM to anticipate customer needs
5. Strengthen Customer Loyalty
• Schedule quarterly business reviews with key accounts
• Position yourself as a trusted advisor—not just a supplier
Hope that helps now and in the future.

3. How to Disinfect Properly
Clean first: Remove dirt, dust, and organic material
Apply disinfectant liberally to surfaces
Follow dwell time: Let the product sit wet on the surface for the amount of time listed on the label (usually 1–10 minutes)
Air out rooms: Measles can linger in the air for hours, so proper ventilation is key
Focus on high-touch surfaces: doorknobs, light switches, chairs, handrails, remote controls, and countertops
