“Is there anything we can help you with during the cleanup?”
If you’re anywhere along the East Coast this weekend, chances are you’re paying attention to the nor’easter.
But for many of your customers, the real work starts after the storm passes.
Heavy rain, flooding and high winds can leave behind wet floors, tracked-in soil, water-damaged areas, odors, debris and sometimes even microbial concerns.
That creates an opportunity for a good salesperson to do more than just take an order.
Check in with your customers.
Ask if they had any water intrusion. Do they need wet vacuums, extractors, absorbents, floor cleaners, disinfectants, odor-control products, mops, squeegees or replacement matting?
If flooding occurred, they may also need help understanding the proper cleanup process and which products should be used on affected surfaces.
Instead of calling and asking: “Do you need anything?”
Try: “How did you make out with the storm? Is there anything we can help you with during the cleanup?”

3. How to Disinfect Properly
Clean first: Remove dirt, dust, and organic material
Apply disinfectant liberally to surfaces
Follow dwell time: Let the product sit wet on the surface for the amount of time listed on the label (usually 1–10 minutes)
Air out rooms: Measles can linger in the air for hours, so proper ventilation is key
Focus on high-touch surfaces: doorknobs, light switches, chairs, handrails, remote controls, and countertops
