Happy 4th of July!

Be sure to check out this week’s Jancast as we discuss what this proposed legislation could mean for the future of the professional cleaning industry.

Jancast # 216 June 25th, 2026 is now up:

In this episode we cover the news about Safer Choice. On June 3, 2026, Senators Chris Coons (D-DE) and Jon Husted (R-OH) introduced the Safer Choice Program Authorization Act (S.4664). This is important because it represents a bipartisan effort to formally establish the EPA’s Safer Choice and Design for the Environment programs in federal law rather than relying solely on administrative authority.

3. How to Disinfect Properly
Clean first: Remove dirt, dust, and organic material
Apply disinfectant liberally to surfaces
Follow dwell time: Let the product sit wet on the surface for the amount of time listed on the label (usually 1–10 minutes)
Air out rooms: Measles can linger in the air for hours, so proper ventilation is key
Focus on high-touch surfaces: doorknobs, light switches, chairs, handrails, remote controls, and countertops
